Watertown, Wis. -- The Sabercats Women's Soccer Team have released their 2017 schedule, which holds just three home games as the schedule stands. Eight consecutive NCAA DIII schools comprise a difficult month of September, and the Sabercats have just three regular-season matchups against opponents from the NCCAA.
The only home games on the current agenda will be played September 13 against Marian, September 23 against Greenville, and September 28 against Finlandia.
October will hold two road trips for the Sabercats. The team will travel to Kentucky to take on Johnson (Tenn.) and Kentucky Christian on October 6-7, then MBU will travel north to Minneapolis to take on North Central and Bethany Lutheran in the Twin Cities on October 20-21.
The NCCAA North Regional Tournament will be held at Emmaus Bible College in Dubuque, Iowa November 3-4. Last year, the Sabercats took home a commanding 6-0 win over Providence-Manitoba to win the regional title. The Sabercats will look to rewrite a similar scoreline at this year's regional tournament.
The NCCAA DII National Tournament (Nov. 17-18) will be hosted by the back-to-back defending champions from Bob Jones University (Greenville, S.C.). The Sabercats will try to erase the memory of the 2016 season when the Sabercats fell to fourth place via consecutive shootout losses.
