PLYMOUTH, Wis. -- The Sabercats had a steep learning curve at Lakeland University last night, as they fell to the Muskies 30-107 in the 2024-25 season opener.
Paige Joiner led Maranatha with 13 points while Lillian Cook logged 8 points and 9 rebounds in her collegiate debut. The Muskies (1-2-0, 0-0-0 NACC)Â grab their first win of the season, as they are coming off the heels of a loss to the fourth-ranked Wisconsin-Whitewater Warhawks, who are a perennial NCAA DIII powerhouse.

STORYÂ
Possession was the name of the game early on for Maranatha, as the Sabercats struggled through 30 first-half turnovers under relentless pressure from Lakeland. Maranatha shot just 7-23 from the floor while the Muskies were selective with the shots they took. All told, the Muskies dominated the post, scoring 76 of their points in the paint.
Lakeland showcased a balanced offense, with four players in double figures on the night. A.T. Bartlett was the leader, scoring 22 points while Halle Boldt registered 19.
