STORY

Maranatha was faced with some difficult competition in the double-header matches against Mt. Mercy. Having taken on the Mustangs twice already earlier this season, the Sabercats knew they would have a fight on their hands.

The night seemed to start off in favor as of the Sabercats after Tyler Lacock opened the night with back-to-back aces. But things quickly took a turn for the worse as Maranatha awarded Mt. Mercy their first six points with errors. A seven-point run from the Mustangs shortly after, pulled things out of reach for the Sabercats who fell in the first set 13-25.

Maranatha continued to struggle to get anything going offensively throughout the rest of the night and simply could not find a defensive answer to the Mustangs powerful swings. Mt. Mercy swung their way to two straight set sweeps.

Still in search of a win, the Sabercats set their sight ahead as they travel to Illinois tomorrow to compete in a triangular at Viterbo.
