STORY
After a tight start to the night between the two teams, the Pomeroys took off on a 16-1 run to put away the Sabercats in set one 25-8.
Despite falling 0-3 in the match, Maranatha continued to show improvement through the next two sets increasing their total points to 16 and 18. Tyler Lacock and Jacob Valeria both finished the match hitting above .2 percent, earning five kills a piece.
Before the start of the next match, Maranatha took time to say goodbye to the large number of seniors on the team. Following the ceremony, Jacob Valeria, Tyler Lacock, Titus Huston, Ben Yenger, Caleb Goetz, and Daniel Says took to the floor for one last match in a Sabercat uniform.
The break did not phase the the Pomeroys as they came out in the second match stronger than ever. They put down nine kills and six aces in the first set back, taking down the Sabercats 25-11.
Maranatha seemed shaken in the second set, failing to find a defensive answer for their opponents. The Pomeroys went on to score six unanswered points three times in a row to all but end the second set (25-8).
The final set told the same story as the first. The Pomeroys continued to be a threat from both the service line and at the net, finishing with 12 kills and six aces to put the Sabercats away 25-11 in the third.
The two match sweeping loss brought the Sabercats 2024 season to an end.
