MAPLE GROVE, Minn. -- The Sabercats had their chances at North Central but couldn't turn many of their chances into runs, falling in two heavy losses to the Rams on a chilly April day in Minnesota.
The Sabercats scored just four runs on the day, higlighted only by a sacrifice fly from Judson Martin in the first game, and an RBI single from Collin Pittsenbarger in the second. Teddy Haugen and Don Wheeler had multiple-hit games in the first game and Pittsenbarger had two in the second, as the Sabercats compiled 11 hits on the day.
The Rams were just too hot to handle at the plate, as the hosts 33 hits - 12 of them for extra bases in a home-field offensive exhibition.
