WATERTOWN, Wis. -- The Sabercats had some bright moments in yesterday's doubleheader, but they ultimately fell to North Central University in two five-inning games in their first home games of the 2026 season.
Grace Strauch smashed her second home run of her career while Layla Damotte (two triples) and Lily Snow (two doubles) contributed bright spots behind the plate for Maranatha.
The Sabercats will look forward to another set of doubleheaders tomorrow against North Central on their home field.

STORY
North Central entered the series already in a rhythm, having completed 21 games already coming in. After scoring 3 runs in the first game, Grace Strauch jump started the Sabercats scoring in the second game with a 2 run homerun, which came off the heels of a Damotte triple.
Game two was the strongest offensive showing to date, as the Sabercats logged five extra-base hits. Snow (2) and Strauch logged doubles, adding to the fireworks in the second game of the series.
Lindsay Mikkelson and Ryleigh Bill both contributed RBIs for the Sabercats as well, as Maranatha put together one of their most productive days at the plate this season.
