STORY

The Blue Angels lit up the scoreboard right out of the game, scoring seven runs in the bottom of the first inning to send a statement to Maranatha.

When the Blue Angels followed it up with a couple of runs in the second, the terminal damage had been done and the Sabercats were left looking for a way to recover. Mount Mary's Brianna Lupa proved to be a menace in the circle for the home team, as she earned the win by pitching three innings, holding the Sabercats hit-less and fanning seven batters in the process.

Game two was a repeat scoreline, as the Blue Angels took control through the middle innings to hold Maranatha off. It was an error-less second game from both teams, but Mount Mary threw a combined no-hitter through starting pitched McKinzie Alexus-Douglas and closer Elise DeGraef. Lauren Nylund was the impact player at the plate for the Blue Angels, as she logged four hits and six RBIs on the day.
