PLYMOUTH, Wis. -- The Sabercats did everything but score this afternoon, falling 0-3 to Lakeland University on a windy day in Plymouth.
Maranatha out-shot the Muskies 15-11 and hit the goalpost 3 times in the contest, but the only stat category that counted was the one that Lakeland won.
OVERVIEW

- Venue: Taylor Field, Lakeland University
- Location: Plymouth, Wis.Â
- Attendance: 91
- Record:Â MBU (3-6-3), LUÂ (4-10-0)Â
STORY
Aaron Jones provided a spark in the opening minutes, getting behind the Muskie's back line and hitting the post. Colby Balyo forced a high-level save from the Muskie's goalkeeper and Grant Brock had a header cleared off the line. It just would not go in for the Sabercats.
At the other end of the field, Lakeland scored with their first two shots of the game, stealing goals against the run of play to take an unexpected 2-0 lead entering halftime.
Maranatha created a golden opportunity within the first minute of the second half but were denied by Matt English's outstretched arm in the Lakeland net. English would make six saves in the second half - three of them coming on Sabercat breakaways - to secure a spectacular shared shutout with Zach Helman.
The Muskies upped their shot count with some speculative long-range efforts in the second half and scored on a counter-attack to make it 3-0. At the other end of the field, Grant Kirchner and Clayton Miller both hit the post on a day where the ball just would not go in for MBU.
