WATERTOWN, Wis. -- Great Lakes had the hot hand on Saturday as they shot their way to a 99-62 victory over Maranatha, finishing with 62.1 shooting percentage from the field. They went 41-66, eight of which were from beyond the three-point arc.

Brayden Cox and Noah Jensen both ended the night in double-digits, scoring 20 and 11 points respectively.

STORY

Maranatha's shooting night was nothing to be disappointed in, as they finished 40 percent from the field and knocked down seven shots from long range. But unfortunately the Great Lakes Crusaders were on their "A" game as they went 41-66 from field, finishing with an impressive 62.1 shooting percentage.

While the Crusaders showed they could hit shots from beyond the arc, finishing with eight three-pointers, their strength showed the most in the paint. Maranatha simply had no answers defensively as Great Lakes continued to find the open lanes to the basket. They earned 58 of their total points within the paint.

The second half of play showed to be much more of a battle for the two teams as the Sabercats put up 41 points to the Crusaders 48. But Maranatha had found themselves already in too deep of a hole after Great Lakes had sent them into halftime with a 20 point deficit (51-21). In the end, Great Lakes took the 99-62 conference win.
