LEAD
WATERTOWN, Wis. -- It may have ended their home games in disappointment, but the Sabercats finished on a high note at Washington Park, scoring 14 runs on the day in two losses to Principia College for their best offensive performance this season.
Judson Martin led the way at the plate for Maranatha, registering three hits, three RBIs, and two runs scored. Joe Anderson pitched 5.2 innings of the second game and gave up only two earned runs - a season low for 5.2 innings or more - in his final game on the mound for Maranatha.

STORY
The Sabercats took advantage of a couple of miscues in the first inning, scoring off of an error and a wild pitch to tie the game at 2-2. Maranatha used a Joe Anderson RBI double and another Principia error to score a couple more runs in the bottom of the fourth and make it a 10-4 ballgame. But the Panthers devastated the Sabercats in the fifth, scoring 13 runs to cap the scoring.
A strong hitter's wind made a big difference in the doubleheader, as the bats came alive for both teams. The Sabercats had a hard time dealing with Ryan D'Amico, who hit for the cycle while notching a grand-slam for the Panthers - one of two Principia grand slams in the game.
The second game was a different story, as the Sabercats promptly put eight runs on the scoreboard in the opening two frames. Jonathan Piranian (single) and Joe Cook (double) both had RBIs in the first inning, and the Sabercats repeated their four-run opening at-bat in the second inning. Judson Martin highlighted the stat sheet in the second, bringing in three runs with a nice hit to left:
The second game was the Sabercats' to lose, and that's what happened after a heartbreaking Principia comeback. The Panthers scored six unanswered runs over the last two innings to offset the early onslaught from MBU, taking home a 9-13 win from the second game of the day.
