LANSING, Mich. -- The Sabercats' season came to a disappointing end today, as they fell 1-7 to Grace Christian in the NCCAA Midwest Region Semifinal.

Charis Paez scored the only goal of the game off an assist from Amelia Schroeder as the Sabercats' 2025 season came to a close. Grace Christian advnaces to play Great Lakes in tomorrow's NCCAA Midwest Region Championship.

STORY
Grace got on the board early, scoring three times in the opening exchanges before taking a 4-0 lead into halftime. The Tigers added two more before the 80th minute, when Schroeder connected with Paez for the consolation goal for Maranatha. Schroeder sent in a teasing cross after intercepting a Tigers' goal kick, and Paez smashed her shot into the top corner to put the finishing touches on the Sabercats' lone goal of the game.

Grace Christian added one more before the final whistle to cement the win and the place in the region championship.
