WYOMING, Mich.-- In a classic NCCAA Midwest Region Tournament clash, the Sabercats took on Moody but fell in four sets in an all-out regional marathon this afternoon.

The loss brings a disappointing end to the Sabercats' season, as they fought all the way to the finish.

OVERVIEW

STORY 
The first set was all about the Archers, as they took the first point of the game and never looked back. Scoring was fairly even between teams until the Archers went on a 7 point run, forcing 4 errors out of the Sabercats and landing 3 kills. That left the score at 4-12, which proved to be an insurmountable deficit for the Sabercats. The Archers finished out the set, allowing only 5 more points out of the Sabercats

In the second set, the Sabercats showed definite signs of improvement, but the second set began in much the same way as the first. Points were exchanged until Moody held the 5-8 lead, then the Archers went on another 7 point run. The score sat at 5-15, and the Archers finished out the set allowing 12 total points on the board for the Sabercats.

In set three however, the Sabercats turned the tables on the Archers and took the set in an eerily similar fashion to earlier sets. Both teams again exchanged points, until the Sabercats went on a 6 point run, leaving the score at a promising 19-9. Thanks to a well-balanced offense and some errors on the Archers' side of the court, the Sabercats made no delay in finishing out the match, taking the crucial set win to keep the match going.

In spite of their gritty set win, the Archers came back with a vengeance in the fourth set of the night. Both teams struggled offensively in the opening minutes of the last set, handing over points on errors. Moody broke free from the slump and managed to score 4 points, taking a 6-3 lead. The Sabercats continued to battle hard, staying within striking distance of the Archers, but couldn't get into a groove. The Archers capitalized and finished out the set, 25-16 giving them the match win and punching their ticket to the semi-finals.
