OVERLAND PARK, Kan. -- Despite their early lead, the Sabercats couldn't handle the Saints on Saturday, taking a tough 49-83 loss on the Saints' home court.

STORY
In their first-ever meeting on Saturday, the Sabercats had the Saints under control in the opening minutes of the game. Teachout and Steuerwald connected for several early points, giving the Sabercats the edge, 6-4. Several subsequent turnovers by the Sabercats quickly turned the tide in the hosts' favor, allowing them to go on a 7-point run and take the lead, 11-8. From that point on, the Saints never looked back, as they didn't allow the Sabercats to have the lead for the rest of the game.
As the game went on, the Sabercats couldn't shut down Savannah Luna, as she went on to score a team-best 25 points. With a halftime score of 42-26, the Sabercats couldn't recover, giving the Saints their second win of the season.
