WATERTOWN, Wis. -- The red-hot Pomeroys of Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College were a force to be reckoned with tonight, taking a commanding sweep of a doubleheader at Maranatha.
With the losses, the Sabercats will turn the page and look ahead to the weekend and the Westminster Tri in Fulton, Missouri.

STORY
The Pomeroys brought the heat to the service line in the first match of the day, putting down 21 aces in the first match alone while holding the Sabercats to just 29 points. Noah Boyett was particularly potent, registering 13 aces and 6 kills in the opening match to lead the way for the visitors while Troy Jones and Isaiah Johnson tried to keep pace for the Sabercats with 5 kills apiece.
The second match gave the Sabercats a chance to regroup, as they added 13 points to their match total. SMWC's hitters got things started with 18 kills in the first set alone, as the Sabercats were limited to 6 kills in their match-high 16-point showing. From there, it was all about the Pomeroys, who registered 50 points in the second match to take home their second sweep of the evening.
