STORY

Game One
John Wolf and Royce Congi made the headlines for the Beavers in the opening game of the series. Wolf pitched 7 shutout innings, allowing just 2 hits in the 10-0 win. Haugen and Martin were the two to get hits off of Wolf, as the Sabercats were struggling to maintain momentum. Congi smashed a grand slam to left in the fifth inning, where Blackburn scored 7 of their 10 runs to get the decisive win.

Game Two
Cameron Curcuro jumpstarted things for the Sabercats in the second game. The leadoff hitter would go 3-3 in his first 3 trips to the plate, as he and Haugen hit a couple of singles to spark a 2-0 start to the game and give the Sabercats new life in the series.

Collin Pittsenbarger scored off of a Blackburn error in the third, and Haugen's first home run of the day came just a couple of batters later, and the Sabercats were up 5-2 through three innings.

Martin brought home Tim Nickels with an RBI double in the third, and Curcuro notched a well-deserved RBI to score Martin and cap the scoring for the Sabercats. with a 7-2 lead, Maranatha was in the driver's seat.

Curcuro showed his value all around with a couple of acrobatic snags to keep the Beavers away from the lead, and the only scare the Sabercats had was a 2-run Beaver showing in the fifth, where Blackburn scored on a couple of passed balls. After Martin went 6.1 innings, Haugen stepped up and forced a double play to end the game, giving the Sabercats one of the most balanced team wins this season.
