WATERTOWN, Wis. -- The Sabercats did what they could but ultimately were no match for the hot bats of Grace Christian University this weekend, falling to the Tigers in a 4-game series at Washington Park.
The fourth game was a defensive battle, as Jonathan Jeske pitched all 7 innings and limited the Tigers to just 2 earned runs, but the visitors had command of the plate for the other three games of the series. Damien Fernandez led the way for the Tigers, logging 10 RBIs, a home run, and a double on the weekend.
For the Sabercats, Emerson Pease had 3 doubles in the series, as he and Jeske both had 4 hits for Maranatha on the weekend. Joe Anderson and Don Wheeler both recorded 2 RBIs for Maranatha.
The third game of the series was shortened due to unplayable field conditions, as the game had already been subject to a brief rain delay. All in all, it was Grace Christian's series, as the Tigers took all four wins away from Watertown to sweep the series in 2025.
