WATERTOWN, Wis. -- The Sabercats had some chances but were ultimately frustrated in a doubleheader at Washington Park last night, falling to Wisconsin Lutheran 3-20 and 2-11 in Maranatha's home opener.
The Sabercats had 7 hits to the Warriors' 8 in the second game, but ultimately left the chances begging as Wisconsin Lutheran took the wins away from a chilly night in Watertown.
Judson Martin passed the 100 career strikeouts milestone in the opening game of the day, becoming just the third pitcher in Maranatha Baseball program history to reach triple digits in that category. Emerson Pease was the only Sabercat to record a hit in each of the games, as the freshman recorded 3 on the day. Joe Anderson led the offensive efforts in the second game with two doubles. Jonathan Jeske recorded an RBI double in the second game and Timothy Searle scored his first career run at Washington Park, using some heads-up baserunning to score all the way from first base on a crazy play in the final inning.
