EUREKA, Ill. -- The Sabercats got on the board today but were ultimately denied the win, falling 1-3 at Eureka College in a rain-delayed game to conclude a weekend trip.
Amelia Schroeder scored the lone goal for the Sabercats in the first half, but two late goals from the Red Devils sealed the deal for Eureka.

STORY
Eureka opened the scoring in the 12th minute through Melanie Lopez, as the first half was an even matchup in shots and in goals. Schroeder's answer came in the 26th minute, as the junior took advantage of a sloppy touch from the Eureka goalkeeper, pouncing on the opportunity to touch the ball free inside the penalty area and slot it into the gaping net.
Schroeder, Charis Paez, and Alayna Smith all registered shots for Maranatha in the first half as the score was tied 1-1 through the first 45.
In the end, more goals for Eureka was an inevitable occurence, as the Red Devils outshot Maranatha 7-2 in the second half. The pressure finally paid off with about 10 minutes left, when the hosts scored twice in quick succession to put the game out of reach of the Sabercats once and for all.
