LANSING, Mich. — It wasn't the Sabercats night in Lansing on Friday, as they fell 70-104 to the fourth-ranked powerhouse of the NCCAA Midwest Region, Great Lakes Christian.
James Hawley fueled a big weekend with a team-best 17 points on the night; Will Schultz (15), Ben Price (12), and Christian Cleveland (10) also registered double-digit points for Maranatha in their first of two NCCAA Top-10 matchups this weekend.

STORYÂ
After the opening exchanges, the Sabercats stayed within striking distance of the Crusaders until late in the first half. A couple of costly turnovers and some missed shots down the stretch gave Great Lakes some room to breathe, as the hosts extended their lead by 10 points over the final 7 minutes, taking a 47-31 lead going into the halftime break.Â
Will Schultz led the Sabercats in the first half with 10 points and 4 assists with Price (7 points) and Hawley (6 points) contributing on the offensive side for Maranatha as well.
The second half was a similar story, as Great Lakes steadily increased their lead to just over 30 points when it was all said and done. On the night, the hosts logged 33 points off turnovers and 15 second-chance points. Great Lakes had a balanced offense, as 5 players logged double-digit points in a comfortable win.
