STORY
It was a night to remember for the Sabercats as they welcomed friends and family to Maranatha's campus. Not only that, but they completed a season sweep of the Cougars, who received votes in the most recent NCCAA coaches' poll. Although not a blowout, the Sabercats were clearly the better team in the first half. The Sabercats' suffocating defense held the Cougars scoreless for 5 minutes early in the game. Despite this, the Sabercats also struggled to score often, making the score only 6-2 seven minutes into the game. Throughout the first half, the Sabercats maintained their lead, which at one point extended to 10 points. At the close of the first half, the Sabercats held the lead, 24-18.
At the start of the second half, the Sabercats played with tenacity, quickly taking a 10-point lead, thanks to 3-pointers from Will Schultz and Joe Shank. When all was said and done, the Sabercats had maintained their lead throughout the second half and closed out the game with a 59-50 win.
