STORY

From the opening minutes of the game, the Eagles sought to capitalize on their home court advantage, but the Sabercats were also supported by a large group of devoted students from Sabercat Nation who came to cheer them on. Despite the Sabercats' support, the Eagles managed to capitalize on the Sabercats' early scoring woes, taking a 10-3 lead. Although the Sabercats found themselves in an early deficit, they never allowed themselves to be down by more than 10. While the Eagles held the lead, it hardly felt like they had solid control of the game. Going into halftime, the score stood at 32-24 and the Sabercats had a clear objective: stop Eli Mackey. In the first half alone, Mackey scored 16 of the Eagles' 32 points.

Coming out of the locker room, the Sabercats got the break they needed, scoring 6 points before the Eagles could get on the board. Unfortunately for the Sabercats, their first-half nemesis came back to life, quickly putting down 5 points for the Eagles. Despite the Sabercats' best efforts, they wouldn't come any closer than 3 points to the lead for the rest of the game. As the game drew to a close, the Eagles had widened their lead to 73-60, taking their first win from the Sabercats this season.

Although they experienced a disappointing end to their season, three student-athletes received all-region recognition. James Hawley was named to the all-region first team, while Will Schultz was named to the second team, and Joe Shank was given an honorable mention.
