STORY
In the opening minutes of the game, the Sabercats stunned the Crusaders, taking a 10-point lead in the first five minutes of the game. A timely timeout by the Great Lakes coach helped the Crusaders regroup, allowing them to go on a 12-2 run after restarting the game. From that point on, both teams put everything on the court, giving their fans an exciting show to watch. The Crusaders would maintain the lead for the majority of the half, but never extend it beyond 10 points. At halftime, the score sat at 40-30, leaving the Sabercats work to do if they wanted a chance to win the game.
During the second half, the Sabercats began to feel the absence of their leading scorer (James Hawley) more acutely. The Crusaders continued to run a suffocating defense, forcing turnovers and a quick pace. The Sabercats did all they could to keep up, but ultimately couldn't maintain the same pace of play for the rest of the game. At the buzzer, the score was 91-64, a dramatic change from the halftime point differential.
