PARAGOULD, Ark. -- In their second matchup of spring break, the Sabercats were swept in a doubleheader against Crowley's Ridge.
In the first game of the doubleheader, the Sabercats initially kept the Pioneers' scoring to a minimum. When the second inning came around, the Pioneers started to score like nobody's business, and the Sabercats couldn't stop them. In the third inning, the Sabercats were able to stop the bleeding, but they found themselves at too large a deficit to overcome. Ultimately, the Sabercats would lose with a score of 26-0.
Brennan Burch was credited with the Pioneer's win, while Sebastian Martin was given the loss.
Although the Sabercats would be beaten in the second game, they showed signs of improvement. After an early barrage of 10 runs from the Pioneers, the Sabercats held them to just 6 runs in the remaining 6 innings. Although the Sabercats didn't score, they were able to contain the Pioneers more effectively the second time around. At the conclusion of the game, the score was 16-0.
At the mound, Brayden Mashek acquired his fifth win of the season, while Emerson Pease was given a loss.
