WATERTOWN, Wis. -- The Sabercats' Men's Volleyball season in 2026Â brought the challenge of competing through a winless campaign, as the team improved in their overall competitiveness but were still unable to find any success in the wins category.Â
For new head coach Julie Allweil, the season depended on finding small wins to celebrate and redefining what success looked like during a challenging schedule.
"We had a great season in a lot of ways," said Head Coach Julie Allweil. "We needed to try to define what success meant to us outside of winning games. At a time of trying to grow the program into a competitive one, we worked on finding small ways to earn success. Looking for things we can build upon."
Newcomer Colton Brendel led the Sabercats offensively, logging a team-best 68 kills. Hot on his heels were Steven Johnson (65 kills) and Aaron Jones (61 kills), to balance the Sabercats' attack. Josiah Scott did the lion's share of the setting, chalking up 226 assists. Brendel and Jones showed their quality all the way around, leading the defensive efforts with 107 digs and 85 digs, respectively.
At last week's season-end athletic awards ceremony, Allweil named four team awards, which are listed below.
