Scarlet Hawks Stymie Sabercats from the Mound

CHICAGO --- The IIT Scarlet Hawks rode the momentum of lights out pitching and took home two 3-0 wins over the Sabercats tonight in Chicago.

IIT's Kyle Bumpass pitched a no-hitter in game one and Ryan Cantlin went all nine innings and recorded the shutout in game two. Clint Matheis took the loss in game one and Jordan Garrison was credited with the loss in game two.

Tyler Tucker was the man of the hour for the Scarlet Hawks in game one. Tucker either scored or drove in all three runs in the seven-inning event. Behind the no-no from Bumpass, the Scarlet Hawks cruised to their first win of the night. (0-3)

At Chicago State University in game two, the Sabercats saw a similar story. Despite posting six hits, MBU could not score any runs in game two.

Caleb Prigge led MBU with two hits in game two, and four other Sabercats registered a hit.

The two teams will resume tomorrow in another doubleheader beginning at 1:00 p.m.
