STORY
It was an unsettling start for the Sabercats, as Trinity came out with a 20-0 run to start the game. Going 0-11 from the field in the first quarter, Maranatha could not seem to stop the bleeding. Lindsay Mikkelson was finally able to put her team on the board with a single free throw, giving the Sabercats a score of 1-21 at the first buzzer.
In the second quarter, multiple Sabercats were able to add some points to the scoreboard for their team. But it didn't seem to do much good as the Trojans continued to knock down shot after shot, shooting 61.1 percent in the second quarter. Maranatha entered the locker room at halftime trailing Trinity 9-45.
Despite the heavy deficit, the Sabercats stepped back on the court with their heads held high, ready for another twenty minutes of play. Even though the final score of 81-32 doesn't look all that great, there were a lot of good things seen in the second half for Maranatha. For the second time this season, nine different Sabercats contributed points for their team. Among those individuals were freshmen Emma Alsup and Beka Donovan who both scored the first collegiate points of their careers. They both ended with three points on the night.
