BERRIEN SPRINGS, Mich. -- A second-half goal frenzy decided a physical battle in Michigan this afternoon, as the Sabercats suffered another road defeat, falling at Andrews 2-3.

Cameron Beachell and Pedro Ribeiro scored the goals to keep the Sabercats in it, but Andrews' answer was too much to overcome in the second half.

STORY

The hosts scored first from a corner kick, netting a decisive opening goal 20 minutes into the game on a pinpoint cross and finish. From there, the Sabercats struggled to come up with an answer until the final minute of the first half, when Aaron Jones sent a free kick into the box that fell to the feet of Cameron Beachell. The senior captain picked his spot and slotted it into the net for a timely equalizer, and going into the break, the Sabercats had momentum.

The momentum continued early in the second half, as Maranatha began to control the game and enjoy most of the chances. Pedro Ribeiro put the Sabercats ahead 2-1 in the 65th minute with a weaving run behind the Andrews defense, punching a shot off the post and in for a go-ahead goal.

But immediately, Andrews answered, punishing the Sabercats for a couple of defensive miscues to snatch the lead right back within 7 minutes.

In the home stretch, the Sabercats had chances but couldn't put them away. The Andrews goalkeeper made a diving stop to deny Ribeiro a second goal, but that was the closest the Sabercats could come.
