LANSING, Mich. -- Both of the Sabercats basketball teams have been given the #5 seed as they anticipate the 2025 Midwest Region Basketball Tournaments this weekend, as both squads open play in the first round against the #4-seeded Emmaus University Eagles. Maranatha and Emmaus will square off at 4:00 (women) and 7:00 p.m. (men) Eastern on Thursday, February 27, with the winner advancing to the Midwest Region Semifinal against the top-seeded Great Lakes Christian College Crusaders the following day.
Besides the Midwest Region title, the winner of the tournament will earn a berth at the 2025 NCCAA DII National Tournament. Regionals will be held at Great Lakes Christian College in Lansing, Michigan, while Nationals will be held March 13-15 at Crown College in St. Bonifacious, Minnesota.
