STORY
The Sabercats began the weekend with some of their toughest competition as they faced off against Ripon and Westminster. Both teams warmed up as they went, posting better stats each set. Ultimately, the Red Hawks emerged the victors, defeating the Sabercats in straight sets. For the Blue Jays, it was pedal to the metal from the start. With a high kill count and few errors, the Blue Jays also held the Sabercats to a negative attack percentage in their three set sweep. However, the Sabercats had their best showing of the day in the third set, scoring 18 points. Kindra Smith (7 K) and Emma Scalzitti (8 A) were the dynamic duo that helped fuel some late-match success.
Saturday's games proved to be a similar story. The Sabercats fought hard, but couldn't take a set as they fell to Central and Mount Mary. Both teams held the Sabercats to a negative attack percentage, while posting kill totals of 34 and 37.
