STORY
Last night, the Sabercats dueled the Inferno for the second time in two weeks, but this time they had the home court advantage. The first set was neck and neck until the Sabercats went on a five point run, breaking away to make the score 7-3. The Inferno returned the favor with a run of their own, scoring 10 points to the Sabercats' 2. Aided by some late-game errors from the Sabercats, the Inferno closed out the game with a score of 18-25. The second set was a similar story, with the Sabercats notching 2 more points this time around.Â
The third set was the closest set of the evening, but consistency was still a struggle for the Sabercats. The Sabercats led by as many as 6 points, but were again plagued by late-game errors. Ultimately, the Inferno was able to claw their way back into the game and steal the win.
Layla Damotte and Callie Pittsenbarger led the defense with 15 digs each. Emma Scalzitti fed the offense, tallying 12 assists, while Kindra Smith and Tessa Hinze  co-led the Sabercats' offense with 7 kills a piece.
MBU Starters: 3- Scalzitti, 6- Botha, 7- Pittsenbarger (Libero), 13- Broere, 14- Anderson, 15- Smith, 17- Damotte
