STORY
The opening minutes of the game were neck and neck, with neither team able to pull away. Turnovers and missed shots plagued both teams, causing a 3-minute scoring drought. Eventually, Marian took a double-digit lead, which they held going into halftime. With a score of 34-21 at the half, the Sabercats found themselves in a hole, but not an insurmountable one.
Coming out of the locker room, the Sabercats forced a turnover right off the bat, allowing Ben Price to sink a timely three-pointer. Grant Brock and James Hawley would lay in two more baskets to reduce the Sabercats' deficit to just 6 points two and a half minutes into the half. But the Sabres' Derek Lindert got hot from 3-point land, quickly assisting the Sabres in gaining an 18-point lead. The Sabercats continued to fight the rest of the game, but couldn't make a comeback happen. Although they managed to gain ground in the waning minutes of the game, the final score sat at 75-57.
