WATERTOWN, Wis.— In a tough match with Andrews, the Sabercats took their second loss of the season from the Cardinals, 65-79

Despite the loss, James Hawley went 10-10 in free throw shooting - making him just the second student-athlete in recorded history to do so. His 18 points helped him cross the 500th career point mark in just 41 games as a Sabercat.

With Hawley's 18 points and 9 rebounds, as well as Grant Brock's 16 points and 8 rebounds, the two led the Sabercats' scoring, nearly earning double-doubles.

STORY 
In the second matchup of the season between the Sabercats and Cardinals, fans were left with a very similar result as the first contest. Thanks to an early layup from Grant Brock, the Sabercats were on top, but an influx of turnovers and lack of rebounds kept them from taking a significant lead. Consistent scoring on both sides caused the lead to shift back and forth for the remainder of the first half. As the clock wound down, Grant Brock made a fast break off a pass from Christian Cleveland, putting the Sabercats behind just 5 points, with a halftime score of 35-30.

Committing 12 fouls in the second half alone, the Cardinals played a very physical game, gifting the Sabercats 11 trips to the charity stripe. The Sabercats made good use of their shots, shooting 71% from the line. Despite their efforts, the Cardinals' 8-0 run at the beginning of the second half was an unfortunate sign of things to come. For the rest of the contest, the Cardinals would not relinquish their double-digit lead. With a final score of 79-65, the Cardinals completed their season sweep of the Sabercats on their home floor.
