RIVER FOREST, Ill. -- The Sabercats were out-gunned today, dropping two matches in straight sets at a tough Concordia-Chicago Tri.

STORY

Concordia-Chicago: The Cougars were flat-out hard to stop, as they smacked down 17 kills in the first set to send a message. The message was that the Cougars weren't going to give an inch on their home court, as they kept the pressure on for the remainder of the match, limiting the Sabercats to no more than 18 points in any of the three sets.

Joel Smith, Phillip Holbrook, and James Rossiter all led MBU with five kills apiece while Taylor Dafoe logged 20 assists and 11 digs, but despite their best efforts, the Sabercats couldn't sustain any lasting momentum against the NACC powerhouse. All in all, CUC landed some 46 kills against the Sabercats, as the hosts swung their way to the straight-set win.

Augustana: If the Sabercats were expecting the difficulty to subside in the second match, they had another thing coming. Augustana was sharp on both sides of the ball, limiting the Sabercats to just 15 kills in the entire match. For MBU, it was a struggle to get anything going offensively, as their 15 kills were outweighed by 23 errors in the match.

On the other side of the net, Augustana kept up a crisp attack, swinging at a clip of 43 percent for the match as they took home the straight-set win.
