STORY
It was a tightly contested game in the early stages, as the Sabercats tightened some loose ends from the Wisconsin Lutheran loss on Saturday. Kina Hopkins broke the tie just over 13 minutes into the game with a sizzling strike from 25 yards that found the upper corner, and the visitors added a second just 10 minutes later with a close-range effort from Kaley Kowal.
Kowal added her second just under two minutes into the second half, and the Red Hawks went on to put the finishing touches with two goals in the final 10 minutes.
Despite the 5-0 loss, Coach Jeff Pill is pleased with the team's performance and willingness to defend. "We're getting more organized and making small steps to improve our combativeness," said Pill after the game. "And our ability to compete during the whole game. We're looking forward to our next contest on Saturday."
