STORY
All told, the Sabercats were the sharper shooters on the night but the big difference in this one came from turnovers. Maranatha lost possession 25 times compared to twice from the hosts who converted 31 points off turnovers in their 22-point win.
Going into halftime, the Sabres were stifling any attempt at momentum from the Sabercats, who scored just 16 points in the opening 20 minutes.
The Sabercats were sharpest in the second half, taking a 40-38 advantage in the second act thanks to a dying-seconds layup from James Hawley, but the terminal damage had been done already as the Sabres defended their home floor. Alex Vassilakis led a balanced attack for Marian with 15 points on the night.
