STORY
Crown wasted no time in dealing a hammer blow. The Polars blitzed the Sabercats for a 20-1 run in the first five minutes of the contest, essentially winning the game right there. It was a matter of stopping the bleeding for Maranatha, who looked to restore order with a variety of contributions of the offensive side. Four points apiece from Coffy and Will Schultz were part of the efforts to kick-start something offensively, but going into halftime, the Sabercats were down 25-53 and were in search of answers. In the opening 20 minutes, the Polars had pressured the Sabercats into shooting just 30 percent from the floor.
The second half was another step in the right direction for the Sabercats, who made it a 37-40 half after playing more sharply from top to bottom. Cox and Schultz were setting the tone, but after Crown had issued the terminal damage in the beginning of the game, it was a matter of riding the wave of momentum until the final horn.
