STORY
After a rocky start out of the gate, the Sabercats found themselves in a 4-11 deficit, but they refused to give up. Jump started by two aces from Callie Pittsebarger, the Sabercats stole six points from the Archers, making the score 14-11 in the Sabercats' favor. Seven kills later, the Sabercats stayed on top to upset the Archers and take a hard fought set win, 25-22.
In the second set, the Sabercats offense struggled as the Archers' attack threw them off their rhythm, causing 12 errors. The Archers proved to be too much to overcome as they held the Sabercats to just 12 points in the second set.
In the third set of the night, the Sabercats took an early 2-0 lead right out of the gate. The Archers answered with a 4 point run, making the score 4-2 in the Archers' favor. However, that would be their only lead of the third set. The Sabercats went on a four point run of their own, giving them the lead and forcing an Archers' timeout. After a few points back and forth, Layla Domotte became a swinging machine, as she contributed four kills to the Sabercats' scoring streak. The Archers weren't giving up though, as they answered with a run that put them just 4 points behind the Sabercats. In the end, the Sabercats took the win, forcing errors on the Archers' side of the court.
Set four felt like a replay of set two, as the Archers shut down the Maranatha offense, allowing them only one more point than in the second set.
The final abbreviated set began with Maranatha in the driver's seat, taking a 5-2 lead. However, Moody wasn't going down without a fight, as they came back to take the 5-7 lead. In the end, Olivia Clem's 3 aces were enough to take home the win on the Archers' home court.
