STORY
WHITEWATER, Wis. -- The Sabercats faced some tough competition today as they ran their second meet of the season at the Tom Hoffman Invitational in Whitewater, Wisconsin.Â
Andrew Dorothy and Douglas Smith led the Sabercat men with a stunning tie as they finished in 33:28 on an 8K course. Dorothy and Smith finished in 47th and 48th places, respectively. Wisconsin-Whitewater's Dan Anderson took home the gold with a finishing time of 25:54, almost a minute ahead of the second place finisher. The Whitewater Warhawks won the men's race, finishing with just 23 points.
For the second meet in a row, Gini Cooper was the first runner to cross the finish line for the Sabercat women, with a time of 31:41 on the 6K course. Katie Erb, a senior from Whitewater, led the charge for the Warhawks with a finishing time of 23:44. With the top 5 finishers coming from Whitewater, the Warhawks took first in the meet, tallying the lowest possible 15 points.
