Jeske, Haugen Earn Double Weekly Honor for Maranatha Baseball

Duo shines in home games for Sabercats, NCCAA takes notice.

GREENVILLE, S.C. -- Jonathan Jeske and Teddy Haugen were dangerous last week for the Sabercats, and both of them have been named as national student-athletes of the week by the National Christian College Athletic Association.

Jeske, a freshman from Green Bay, Wisconsin, was front and center on the mound, pitching 11.2 innings while giving up just 4 earned runs, good enough for an ERA of 3.21 on the week. The freshman recorded 12 strikeouts in his two appearances, which came against Blackburn on Monday and Grace Christian on Saturday.

Haugen collected the award that was inevitable for the junior, as the Hubertus, Wisconsin native broke the program's home run record, smashing his 9th career bomb over the fence at Washington Park in a split twinbill with Blackburn College on Tuesday. Haugen went 5-12 on the week with an on-base percentage of .500 on 1.000 slugging before an injury sidelined him for most of the 4-game series with Grace Christian on the weekend.
